International Import and Export Authorization System - INCB's Participation at the 2017 User Group Meeting

Vienna/Bern, 4 October 2017 - INCB contributed to the National Drug Control System (NDS) and International Import and Export Authorization System (I2ES) User Group Meeting held in Bern, Switzerland , from 3 to 5 October 2017. INCB highlighted the importance of expediting the import and export of controlled substances for medical purposes through I2ES, which is an online communication system that supports the monitoring of international trade in scheduled substances. Active participation and usage by competent national authorities were encouraged by INCB to realize the system's full potential in achieving this goal. |
Presenting the key features and status of I2ES , INCB facilitated discussion on experiences and user requirement. This presentation led to a dialogue between many competent national authorities in regards to their experiences with I2ES. These exchanges have been a catalyst in shedding light on the way forward and the future development of the system. The full presentation can be found here.
