San Antonio, Texas, 12-13 May 2026

From 12–13 May 2026, the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), through its Global Rapid Interdiction of Dangerous Substances (GRIDS) Programme, strengthened regional cooperation against synthetic drugs by participating in the Chemical Workshop organized by the DEA in San Antonio, Texas.
The GRIDS Regional Technical Officer for the Americas delivered targeted presentations on the GRIDS Programme’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative and the SNOOP tool for analysis and investigations. The session supported law enforcement officers from Mexico, as well as representatives from law enforcement and the private sector in the United States of America, in strengthening partnerships to achieve “one unified goal: to identify, prevent, and ultimately stop the diversion of precursor chemicals before they can be used to cause harm,” as stated by Miguel A. Madrigal, DEA Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio Field Division.
The workshop highlighted the importance of regional intelligence sharing and cross-sector cooperation in addressing the evolving challenges posed by synthetic drugs across the Americas.
Participation of the INCB GRIDS Programme was made possible through the generous support of the United States Government, Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
