Change in the INCB secretariat
Vienna, 9 June 2020 - Today the Board announced that Mr. Andrés Finguerut would be leaving his post as INCB Secretary on 30 June 2020, and on 1 July assume his new responsibilities as Chief, Drug Prevention and Health Branch, Division for Operations, UNODC.
The Board would like to express its appreciation to Mr. Finguerut for his almost nine years at the helm of the INCB secretariat, and for his service to the Board in strengthening international drug control, and in responding to the emerging challenges and the changing nature of the world drug problem. We are thankful for his contributions, and wish Mr. Finguerut success in his new position.
The process of selecting a new Secretary of INCB is underway and an announcement will be made in due course. Mr. Stefano Berterame will be Secretary ad interim of INCB starting 1 July until further notice.
