INCB Learning held a national awareness-raising workshop on 29 April 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya on the availability of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for medical and scientific purposes at the United Nations Office in Nairobi. The activity brought together different Kenyan authorities, health care professionals and civil society as well as representatives from the African Union Commission, World Health Organisation (WHO), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the international community to discuss the importance of ensuring adequate access to controlled substances for pain management and the treatment of mental health conditions.

Board member Prof. Richard Mattick presented the INCB Availability Report (2015) through video-conference at the event. Representatives of the United States Embassy and the Australian High Commission in Nairobi, whose Governments provided contributions to INCB Learning, also joined the workshop.
