

The framework for the international control of psychotropic substances is established by the Convention on Psychotropic Substances on 1971 signed in Vienna, Austria. Additionally, the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) and its subsidiary body, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), have issued a number of resolutions reiterating the provisions and expanding the framework of control of the 1971 Convention.
