Honduras - National Approach on Materials and Equipment Used in Illicit Drug Manufacture


In Honduras, the transportation of certain items, including drug manufacturing equipment, is regulated under Decree 155, 2015. It is required that the vehicles transporting such items be duly authorized by the Honduran Institute of Transportation (art. 37 and 42).

Under Decree 130, 2017, the Penal Code, article 311, establishes that perpetrators of acts of cultivation, production, manufacture, commerce, transportation, or trafficking, or of any act that in any way promotes or facilitates the illegal consumption of narcotics drugs or psychotropic substances, or of the possession of such substances for the above-mentioned purposes, must be punished with a prison sentence of four (4) to seven (7) years if the drugs do not cause serious damage to health, and from seven (7) to ten (10) years in more serious cases. In addition, perpetrators are fined one hundred (100) to five hundred (500) daily rates.
